Care Instruction

This is how to care for our products

BioThane® and Hexa-coated webbings

BioThane® and Hexa-coated webbing are long-lasting materials if they are cared for properly. We recommend to wash in lukewarm water with a mild soap, or with baby wipes. Dry the material with a clean cloth, and be extra mindful of areas around the adjusting hardware. Do not leave the materials in direct sunlight or near sources of heat. BioThane® and Hexa can become stained by the chemicals used in tick and flea treatments and can stiffen from the oils on human and pet skin. Therefore, it is recommended to clean the collar and leash after use.

It is not recommended to let your pets wear a collar for extended periods of time. Prolonged wear—regardless of the material—can cause hair loss or skin irritation. Loose fur may stick to the collar or leash due to the material's texture. Colour transferring can happen if BioThane® and Hexa are left on other surfaces (such as, skin, hair, or fabric) for extended periods. If this were to happen, clean the area with lukewarm water and mild soap. The colours from BioThane® and Hexa are not hazardous. However, if there are signs of skin irritation, please contact a veterinarian of medical doctor.

BioThane® and Hexa are strong materials, but a cut or bite mark can weaken or break them. Therefore, keep collars and leashes away from pets when not in use. If any cuts or bite marks appear on your pet's leash or collar and you are unsure if it is safe to continue using, please contact us for help.

Please note that BioThane® and Hexa should not be repaired by melting. Doing so can release toxic fumes. Read more about the safety guidelines

Hardware such as buckles, rings, hooks, and rivets

All of our hardware is corrosion-resistant. However, the hardware can still get rust if exposed to chemicals, grease, moisture, or saline. Therefore, we recommend cleaning the collar and leash after each use. Our hardware has a high break strength, if your dog is a strong puller, they may eventually break.

Have an active dog? No problem!

If your dog loves snow, water, or spends a lot of time at the beach—or outdoors in cold weather—we recommend customizing a collar. Our regular buckle looks great, but it won’t last as long as a sturdy plastic one!

That’s why we offer a black plastic buckle with a secure lock. It’s super strong, more flexible and handles harsh environments way better than a steel buckle.
