A bit about our materials

BioThane®

BioThane® is a brand of polyester webbing with a TPU or PVC coating, which is made by BioThane Coated Webbing Corp. It is widely used for horses and dogs. The reason it is popular is that it is easy to clean because it is waterproof, it is an alternative to leather, it does not absorb moisture, and with the right care, it can last a very long time.

Hexa-Coated Webbing

Hexa is made of nylon webbing with a PVC coating. It is not the same as BioThane®, but it shares the same features. It is softer and has a pattern on it, which gives extra grip. It is waterproof and very easy to clean. Hexa is not as strong as BioThane®, but it is a durable material for dog leashes.

One big reason we love this material is our dog, Charlie. He is not the cleanest dog in the neighborhood. Every walk used to be a hassle for us since we had to clean his collar and leash all the time. Then, we had to wait for them to dry before we could use them again. With BioThane® and Hexa, both Charlie and we can enjoy our walks together, not to mention all the color choices we love.
